Wireless Broadband in Churches

The Chancellor of the Diocese held a hearing of the Consistory Court at Postwick on 26 September 2011 to consider an application for a Faculty to install Wireless Broadband equipment at the church of Postwick, All Saints, just east of Norwich. The equipment is designed to enable local subscribers to access high speed broadband internet services which might not be available in rural areas through traditional cable and fibre-optic networks. The application attracted objections based on concerns that the wireless transmissions proposed might be damaging to public health. A copy of the Chancellor’s judgement, granting the Faculty and dated 27 September 2011, is available here: Consistory Court – Postwick Judgment – 2011.09.27
