Parochial Applications
The fees currently payable in respect of Faculty matters are set out in the The Ecclesiastical Judges, Legal Officers and Others (Fees) Order 2011. No fee is currently payable by individual parishes for Faculty Applications. The cost of applications is met by the Diocese out of its general budget.
Private Applications
In the Diocese of Norwich the current fee payable (from 4 January 2011) when lodging the Petition is £228 (inclusive of VAT at 20%). A cheque should be made payable to Birketts LLP and sent to the Diocesan Registry with the Petition.
On the granting of a Faculty to authorise the reservation of a grave space, in addition to the fee due on lodging the Petition, the applicant will normally be asked to pay a sum to the incumbent and/or the PCC to cover the future cost of maintaining the grave space.
