Church House Publishing have published a new looseleaf edition of the Canons of the Church of England (7th ed. 2012, ISBN 978 0 7151 1058 4). The new edition includes Amending Canons No’s 28 and 29, making changes respectively to Canon B44 (Local Ecumenical Projects), and to Canons C12, C25, D3, E6, G2, G3 and H2 (various changes, including matters arising from the introduction of Common Tenure).
HM the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

Parishes wishing to mark the 2012 Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by the introduction of an appropriate memorial into their church should note that if the proposed memorial includes a copy of the Royal Arms, the permission of the Crown will be required before a faculty can be granted. Advice should be sought from the Registrar on this question.

The General Register Office has produced a very useful Guide for the Clergy, which will be of particular help to clergy dealing with marriage registers, but it also contains a good outline of the general law relating to marriages, as well as baptisms and burials.
Wireless Broadband in Churches

The Chancellor of the Diocese held a hearing of the Consistory Court at Postwick on 26 September 2011 to consider an application for a Faculty to install Wireless Broadband equipment at the church of Postwick, All Saints, just east of Norwich. The equipment is designed to enable local subscribers to access high speed broadband internet services which might not be available in rural areas through traditional cable and fibre-optic networks. Table of Parochial Fees

A new Table of Parochial Fees came into force on 1st January 2011. Note that this has not yet been updated for 2012, so that Parochial Fees continue to be payable at 2011 rates for the time being.
The Parochial Fees and Scheduled Matters Amending Order 2012 has now been made and will change some fees from 1 January 2013.
